Phil Jelfs first discovered yoga in 1992 and has been teaching since 2005. He has practiced many different styles including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Vinyasa and even Acro yoga! He has been to numerous workshops including ones by renowned yoga teachers such as Erich Schiffman, Baron Baptiste, Doug Swenson and Rusty Wells. In 2012, wishing to deepen his own practice and offer even more to his students he decided to enroll in Breathe’s “Joy of Yoga” teacher training program under the guidance of Jennifer Prugh. Phil’s 500 hour yoga teacher training included an intensive immersion in Dharamsala, India.

He currently teaches Hatha yoga and a Vinyasa flow with an Iyengar based focus on alignment. These styles help to build strength and flexibility; something we all need. Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, Phil’s class will provide you with a fun and challenging experience.

Phil volunteers at Cherry Chase Elementary School – helping with the garden club activities, teaching art and music appreciation, and driving on field trips.
